Bridges are most often made of tooth-coloured porcelain with either metal or tooth-coloured zirconium substructure.
Bridges are one of the most common and popular ways to replace one or more missing teeth.
Designed to quite literally ‘bridge’ any gaps in the mouth due to missing or damaged teeth, we can use dental bridges to replace just one tooth or several missing teeth. Bridges use the surrounding natural teeth as support and anchor the new prosthetic tooth or teeth in place.
FAQs
What are bridges made from?
How is a bridge applied?
The application of a bridge usually takes two appointments. At the first appointment, we will prepare the neighbouring anchor teeth before taking mouth scans so that your bridge can be made personally for you.
At Rothwell Dental Care and Implant Centre, we have a digital intra-oral scanner, making for the most comfortable and precise experience possible.
When the bridge has been made and is ready for application, you’ll return to the practice so we can place it for you, ensuring the fit and bite are correct, and you’re completely comfortable.
Do bridges require special care?
Yes, you will have to learn how to clean your bridge properly – we will be sure to teach you how to do so before you go home with your new smile.
Why do I need a bridge?
Living with a missing tooth or teeth can be difficult, affecting your speech, everyday life and long-term oral health. We always recommend replacement wherever necessary and possible.
Why choose a bridge?
Bridges are just one replacement option we offer here at Rothwell Dental Care and Implant Centre. They are highly effective, can dramatically improve the patient’s life and overall oral health, and are cost-effective.
