Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles uses a bracket and wires system to move the teeth into the correct position. Working in much the same way as traditional metal braces, they are fixed to the front of the teeth and cannot be removed by the patient. While wearing the braces, you’ll come into the practice 3-7 times so we can keep an eye on your progress and make sure everything is moving in the desired direction.

This braces system can work much more efficiently and quickly than traditional braces because they only treat the teeth at the front of the mouth that are most often on display.

Most patients using this treatment can have their braces removed after six months, although in some cases, it may take a little longer or a bit less time.

This system is by no means invisible, but it is a lot less noticeable than traditional metal braces.

While you shouldn’t experience any pain, you will likely experience some discomfort, especially when first wearing the braces. This is due to the pressure exerted on the teeth to move them, but most patients soon get used to it.

Yes, we’ll always recommend a nighttime retainer indefinitely after orthodontic treatment. This is to stop the teeth from reverting to their original positions.
